Learning Curves Attitude of Gratitude
We all have particular times in our lives when we are given the opportunity to reflect on our blessings. The past two months have been one of those times for me. My blessings are endless.
The special blessing that has come to Frances and I and our family, over the past 11 years, in our efforts to provide you the opportunity to participate in our Learning Curves adventures is something we truly cherish.
New-found friendships, the joy of seeing your excitement for what we provide, the opportunity to stay involved with people in the profession we love—even in our retirement—are but a few of the blessings that have come to us as we have committed ourselves to this project.
I write the content of this newsletter as I sit at the bedside of Francis, in the intensive care unit of our local hospital. My wife and sweetheart has been here in critical condition for the past seven weeks at the time of this writing. Most of you know her by her biker name “Dolly.”
She continues to make a very slow recovery toward riding with all of you again. This despite the fact that I thought she was gone on several occasions over the past 2 months. She is a real big fighter in a beautiful small body.
I want to take this opportunity to sincerely thank those of you who have been so gracious and understanding, as we have found it necessary to postpone our May Grand Circle Adventure and our June International ride to the Canadian Rockies until 2010.
I want to also thank all of you for the joy you bring into my life and that of Frances and our family through your participation in our combining educational and riding adventures.
I am sincerely grateful for you and especially for my sweetheart and riding companion Frances.
